思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love は世界を救う
世界中でコロナウイルス coronavirus の感染拡大が続く中
ニュージーランド
オーストラリア
台湾
この3箇所の地域では
薬 medicine や ワクチン vaccine などの治療法がなくても
感染予防をするだけで
新型コロナウイルス感染症 COVID-19 の
感染者がほぼゼロ 0 人という日が長期間に渡り続いています。
予防は最高の治療。
Prevention is better than cure.
まさにこのことわざが現実となっているのですね。
そして、この3箇所を見てもわかるように
感染者がほぼゼロ 0 人という結果には
人種は関係がないようです。
前回も少しご紹介しましたが
ニュージーランドと台湾にいる知人達 friends にメールでお話しを聴いてみると、
もちろん現地にはいろいろな人達がいるけれど多くの人達は、
無理やりやらされている…というように
いやいや消極的に感染予防をしているのではなく、
お互いが苦しまないように…という
思いやりから積極的に感染予防をしている、
感染予防を
無理やりやらされている…というように
いやいやすると
欲求不満が溜まり怒り anger になり
感染予防生活が長続きできない、
お互いが苦しまないように…という
思いやりの愛 love からすると
不思議とあまり欲求不満が溜まらないので
感染予防生活が長続きできる、
そうです。
そして、流入感染があるので完全に不安がないわけではありませんが
感染者がほぼゼロ 0 人の状態が長期間に渡り続いていることで
生活や経済などにあまり影響なく暮らせ
感染予防生活に対する欲求不満によるストレスがあまりないそうです。
…なるほど
世界中を見てみると
感染予防をいやいやするならば、感染拡大。
感染予防を思いやりでするならば、感染者ゼロ 0 人、
というように、それぞれの地域の
1人1人の内側 inside の気持ちの状態が
そのまま外側 outside に表れているようです。
外側 outside の世界の状態は
人間の内側 inside の状態を映し出している鏡 mirror
とよく言われますが、まさしく、ですね。
特に台湾では2003年にアジアで大流行した新型肺炎
重症急性呼吸器症候群 SARS で
とても多くの感染者や死亡者が出たという
悲しく苦しい体験 experience をしたそうです。
ですから、2020年1月から流行りはじめた
コロナウイルス coronavirus に対して
台湾のリーダーだけでなく住民の1人1人が
すばやく感染予防などの対応を積極的にしたそうです。
悲しく苦しい体験 experience があったからこそ
もう2度と同じ間違いを繰り返さないように…
お互いが苦しまないように…
そのような思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love で
1人1人が感染予防に積極的に自発的に参加 participation して
協力しあっているのだそうです。
思いやり・慈悲 compassion
英語では
com 共に
passion 情熱
passion のラテン語の語源は
patior（心が）苦しむ
tio こと
passion … つらくなるほどの強い感情
compassion のラテン語の語源は
com 共に
patior 苦しむ
ion こと
compassion … 苦しみを共にする
patior（心が）苦しむ、に似た言葉は
path … sympathy … 同感、共鳴
passi … passion … 情熱
patien … patient … 忍耐強い、患者（苦しみを受けている）
痛み、悲しみ、怒り、憎しみ、嫉妬…などの
苦しみを体験 experience したことがあるので
その苦しみがわかる、
しかし、
ただ嘆き悲しみ怒り復讐したり諦め自暴自棄になるわけではなく、
それらの思いを怒り anger として
自分の外側 outside に向けて攻撃し戦い他殺したり
自分の内側 inside に向けて攻撃し自殺したり
暴力するのではなく、
その苦しみの現実から逃避 escape するのではなく、
その苦しみと直接向き合い受け入れたからこそ、
同じ苦しみの思いを持っている人に
寄り添い苦しみを共にすることができる優しさ、
それが思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love なのですね。
苦しんでいる人を
見て見ぬ振りをしません、
拒絶して嫌がったりしません、
差別して嫌ったりしません。
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love で在ることは
人間だけに対してではなく
全ての存在 existence に対しても同じです。
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love は
頭 head の中の 知識 knowledge で
訓練や練習によって 持って have する do ことは不可能です。
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love は
自らの苦しみの体験 experience を通して
内側奥深くから自然に湧き 起こる happen 愛 love です。
コロナウイルス coronavirus 感染予防のための
知識 knowledge は今では世界中に伝わりました。
しかし、世界中の爆発的な感染拡大の様子や
感染者ほぼゼロ 0 人という地域の様子を
見てもわかるように、
どうやら知識 knowledge だけでは人類は助からないようです。
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love は人類を救うようです。
それは人類だけではなく全ての存在 existence を救います。
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love は世界を救う
禅 zen ध्यान dhyān ディヤーン は世界を救う
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love の象徴と言われている

पद्मम् padmam パッドマ 蓮の花も

人から人へと伝染 infection しますが、
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love も
一言も語らず沈黙 silence に
人から人へと伝染 infection します。
今日はある天使が
गौतम बुद्धः Gautam Buddha ゴータマ・ブッダの
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love に
うっかり伝染 infection してしまったお話しを
osho の講話 discourse からご紹介します。

コロナウイルス coronavirus に感染 infection すると
苦しみ suffering となりますが、
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love に伝染 infection すると
究極の愛 love と 至福 bliss である
光明 enlightenment の状態を
一瞬でも体験 experience できるかもしれません。
さて、この冬、
いやだから…と感染予防をせずに
コロナウイルス coronavirus に感染 infection されて
感染拡大する方に参加しますか？
それとも、
思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love に伝染 infection されて
感染予防を積極的にして
感染者ゼロ 0 人になる方に参加しますか？
1人1人の内側 inside の状態が
この冬以降の外側 outside の世界の状態になります。
この冬は大きな変わり目となります。
至福 bliss も 苦しみ suffering も
その責任を他人に押しつけることは
もうできないし、もう無意味です。
世界がどうなるのかは
1人1人の自分次第…
では、思いやり・慈悲 compassion の 愛 love に伝染 infection された
天使のお話しをお楽しみください！
いにしえの寓話 parable をひとつ…
An ancient parable…
昔々、ある天使が地球へ送られお使いを果たした後、天国へ帰ろうとしていた。
ONCE UPON A TIME AN ANGEL WAS GOING back to heaven after fulfilling the errand for which he had been sent to the earth.
それは暗い夜だった、夜空に月はなく、星さえもなかった。
It was a dark night, no moon in the skies, not even stars.
地球は暗い雲によって包まれていた。
The earth was enveloped by dark clouds.
しかし、その天使がそれらの暗い雲の中にちょうど入ろうとした瞬間、
彼の真下で奇跡が起こっているのを見た。
But the moment the angel was just entering into those dark clouds, he saw a miracle happening just beneath him.
天使は光 light でいっぱいの森を見た。
He saw a forest full of light.
天使は不思議に思った。
He was puzzled.
天使はこの辺りへ何度も行ったことがあり、
彼は地球にとても詳しくなっていた。
He had been to this part many times, he was well-acquainted with the earth.
彼は以前そのようなものをけっして見たことがなかった。
He had never seen such a thing before.
そして、その光 light は普通の光 light でなかった。
And the light was no ordinary light.
その光 light は至福 bliss の質を持ち、祝福があった。
It had the quality of bliss, blessing in it.
その光 light をただ見ているだけで、
その天使はこれまで彼が感じたよりも、
神達の仲間の中で小走りするよりも、
天国で彼が見た輝きの現象よりも、
もっと至福 bliss を感じた。
Just seeing that light, the angel felt more blissful than he had ever felt before, trot even in the company of the gods, not even in heaven had he seen such a luminous phenomenon.
その光 light は小さなマンゴーの木立から生じており、森中に広がっていた。
The light was arising out of a small mango grove and was spreading all over the forest.
そして、その光 light はとても力強かったので、
天使は木々の葉や花を見ることができた、
そして、マンゴーの木立のちょうど横にある小さな湖も見ることができた。
And it was so powerful that he could see the foliage of the trees, the flowers of the trees, and the small lake just by the side of the grove.
天使は興味を持った。
He became intrigued.
天使は地球に戻り降りた。
He descended back to the earth.
天使が降りていくと同時に彼はさらにもっと驚いた。
As he was descending he was surprised even more.
そこには無音の音が大気全体に浸透していた
…無音の音とは、東洋で知られている
プラナーヴァ、オームカー…
まるで、森全体が「ओम् om aum ॐ オーム」を唱えているように。
そのような祝福だった。
There was a soundless sound permeating the whole atmosphere
– the soundless sound that is known in the East as PRANAVA, OMKAR –
as if the whole forest was chanting ’om’.
It was such a benediction.
そして、それだけではなかった、
もっと驚くことが天使を待っていた。
And not only that; more surprises were waiting for him.
マンゴーの木立の近くに天使が降りた瞬間、
彼は芳香を感じた、
完全に未知なる、聞いたことのない、天国の中でさえない、芳香を。
The moment he descended near the grove, he felt a fragrance absolutely unknown, unheard-of, even in heaven.
これはけっして地上のものではなかった。
This was nothing earthly.
それは天上のものでさえもなかった。
It was not even heavenly.
それは彼方だった。
It was beyond.
天使はマンゴーの木立に入った。
He entered the grove.
彼はわからなかった…
何がそこで起こっているのか？
He could not figure it out – what is happening there?
別の驚きが…
ある人が古代の老樹の下にただ坐っていて、瞑想 meditation をしていた。
Another surprise:
a man was just sitting there under an ancient old tree, meditating.
すると、ものごとは理解するためにそんなに難しくなかった。
Then things were not so difficult to understand.
だから、天使は思った、
So he thought,
「この人は बुद्धः buddhaḥ ブッダ 目覚めた人 になったのだ。
この人は我が家 home にやって来たのだ…
光 light、芳香 fragrance、音 sound は
この人からやって来ている。」
”This man has become a Buddha. This man has come home…
the light, the fragrance, the sound, are coming out of this man.”
（我が家 home ＝ 『存在 being』魂 soul 本質（性）essence）
『存在 being』魂 soul は 第2 चक्र cakra chakra チャックラ ではありません。
天使がこの人により近づいて行くほど、
この人の臨在によって天使はもっともっと満たされた。
As he came closer to this man, more and more he was filled by his presence.
森全体がわくわく興奮した
…新しい波動 vibe、新しい生命 life。
The whole forest was agog – a new vibe, a new life.
天使は季節外れの木の花が咲いているのを見ることができた。
He could see trees blooming out of season.
そして、そこにはそのような沈黙 silence、完全なる沈黙 silence があった。
And there was such silence, absolute silence.
そして、その完全なる沈黙 silence の中に
無音の音があった。
And in that absolute silence there was that soundless sound.
森全体…木々、湖、山々…全てが唱えていた。
The WHOLE forest – the trees and the lake and the mountains – all chanting.
天使はこの人の足元にひざまずき、
彼の第3の目 third eye を開いた
…この天使は…
そして、この人が内側 inside で何をしているのかを見ようとした。
He fell into the feet of this man, opened his third eye – this angel – and tried to see what he was doing inside.
（第3の目 third eye ＝ 第6 チャックラ chakra चक्र cakra）
天使達は人間のマインド（思考）mind を覗き見る能力を持っていると言われている。
It is said that angels have the capacity to look into human minds.
天使達は人間のマインド（思考）mind の中で
どんな思考 thought が動いているのかを見つけ出すことができる。
They can find out what thoughts are moving there.
しかし、天使がもっと試すほど、
彼がもっと感じるほど、
それは不可能だった
…その人の内側 inside には動いている思考 thought はなかった。
But the more he tried, the more he felt it was impossible – there was no thought moving inside.
完全に空っぽ emptiness だった、
ただ無 nothingness だった。
There was utter emptiness, just nothingness.
天使は恐れを感じ始めた。
He started feeling afraid.
天使は空 sky の 無 nothingness を知っている、
天使は空 sky の無限 infinity を知っている、
しかし、 これはそれよりもっと深かった。
He knows the nothingness of the sky,
he knows the infinity of the sky,
but this was deeper than that.
彼にとっての未知なる深さだった。
It had a depth unknown to him.
それは底知れないものだった。
It was abysmal.
天使はその中で迷うかもしれない、
彼は戻って来ることができないかもしれないと
恐れを感じ始めた。
He started feeling afraid he may get lost into it, he may not be able to return back.
しかし、魅力がありすぎた。
But the attraction was too much.
天使は迷うことでさえ準備ができた。
He was ready even to get lost.
天使はとても頑張った、
彼はこの沈黙 silence の中へもっともっと深くへと自分自身を引っ張った。
He tried hard, he pulled himself deeper and deeper into this silence.
天使はこの人の意識 consciousness の内側 inside を走った、
しかし、天使はたった1つの微量な思考 thought も見つけることができなかった。
He ran inside this man’s consciousness,
but he could not find a single iota of thought.
だから、天使はこの人が何をしているのかをわかることができなかった。
So he could not figure out what this man was doing.
天使はその人の内側 inside から出て来た、
自分自身をその人へと向き合い、頭を下げ、
この人の足に触れて、そして、言った、
He came out, turned himself into a man, bowed down, touched the feet of this man, and said,
「すみません、どうかあなたの समाधिः samādhiḥ サマーディから出て来てくださいませんか
そして、何が内側 inside で起こっているのかを私に啓発してください、
なぜなら、私にはたった1つの思考 thought も見えないからです。
”Sir, please come out of your samadhi and enlighten me as to what is happening inside,
because I don’t see a single thought.
神達 gods でさえとても思考 thought でいっぱいです！
Even gods are so full of thoughts!
何があなたに起こったのですか？
What has happened to you?
あなたはあまりにも沈黙 silent になっています、
死体だってそんなにも沈黙 silent ではありません！
You have become so utterly silent, even dead bodies are not so utterly silent!
…古い思考 thought がまるで古い埃のように
マインド（思考）mind の中で浮かび続いています…
– the old thoughts go on like old dust floating in the mind –
たとえもし、人間が死んでも思考 thought は続いています。
even if the man is dead the thoughts continue for a time.
マインド（思考）mind はちょうど古い癖から出るようにカチカチ音を鳴らし続けています。
The mind goes on clicking just out of old habit.
何があなたに起こったのですか？
What has happened to you?
あなたは生きていますか？」
You are alive!”
その人は天使を見た、
一言も言わずに、しかし、微笑んだ。
The man looked at the angel, didn’t say a single word, but smiled.
その微笑みは伝染 infection、催眠のようだった。
That smile was like an infection, hypnotic.
そして、天使は微笑みの引っ張りを感じた。
And the angel felt the pull of the smile.
その微笑みは変容だった、
その微笑みは大きな変化だった、
その微笑みは挑発だった、
その微笑みは誘惑だった。
That smile was transforming,
that smile was a great challenge,
that smile was a provocation,
that smile was a seduction.
その微笑みはこの人の内なる世界へと天使を招待した。
That smile invited him to the inner world of this man.
そして、再びその人は目を閉じた、
しかし、どういうわけか、天使もまた目を閉じる感じがした。
And again the man closed his eyes, but somehow the angel also felt to close his eyes.
天使はヒントを得た。
He had got the hint.
その人は言った、
The man had said,
「私はあなたにそれが何であるのかを話すことはできない、
しかし、私はあなたにその道 the way を示すことはできる。
私のようにただ坐りなさい、just sit like me,
私のようにただ在りなさい。just be like me.
あなたは私の空っぽ emptiness の中を覗き見た、
ただ空っぽ empty で在りなさい。just be empty.
在ること being のみが理解する方法だ。」
”I cannot tell you what it is, but I can show you the way.
Just sit like me, just be like me.
You have looked into my emptiness, just be empty.
Only by being is there a way to understanding.”
そして、その人はまったくたった一言もなかった、
しかし、その微笑みがその人の説法だった。
And he had not uttered a single word, but that smile was his sermon.
その人は
वेदः vedaḥ Vedas ヴェーダ
Koran コーラン
Bible 聖書
Dhammapada ダンマパダ
गीता gītā Gita ギーター
の中に含まれる全てを言った。
He had said all that is contained in the Vedas and the Koran and the Bible and Dhammapada and Gita.
その人は、一言も言うことなく、全てを言った。
He had said all without saying a single word.
その人は言われることができないことを言った。
He had said that which cannot be said.
そして、天使は目を閉じ、沈黙 silence に坐り、
そして、消えはじめた。
And the angel closed his eyes, sat in silence, and started disappearing.

サマサティ sammasati
禅 zen はあなたのまさに本性 nature だ、
Zen is your very nature;
それを捨て去ることはありえない。
there is no way of throwing it away.
あなたが禅 zen とできる全てのことは2つだ、
All that you can do with Zen is two things:
あなたは『思い出す remember』ことができる、
または、
あなたは「忘れる forget」ことができる。
you can remember,
or you can forget.
これが唯一の可能性だ。
This is the only possibility.
もし、あなたが
あなたの本性 nature、
あなたの仏性 buddhahood を
「忘れる forget」ならば…
これが禅 zen の世界で唯一の罪だ、
忘れること forgetfulness が。
If you forget your nature, your buddhahood...
this is the only sin in the world of Zen: forgetfulness.
गौतम बुद्धः Gautam Buddha ゴータマ・ブッダの地上での最後の言葉は
覚えておかなければならない、
「サマサティ sammasati」。
Gautam Buddha’s last words on the earth have to be remembered:
sammasati.
サマサティ sammasati の意味とは
「正しく想起する right remembrance」だ。
Sammasati means right remembrance.
गौतम बुद्धः Gautam Buddha ゴータマ・ブッダの全生涯は
「想起 remembrance」という一言の中に凝縮されている、
まるで、死にゆく時に、彼が
彼の全ての教え、
彼の全ての経典を
その一言の中に凝縮しているように。
His whole life is condensed into a single word, remembrance,
as if on dying, he is condensing all his teachings, all his scriptures into a single word.
誰ひとりも、死にゆく時に、これ以上意味深いことを発した者はいない。
Nobody has uttered a more significant word when dying.
彼の最後のメッセージ、
彼の全メッセージ、
サマサティ sammasati、
想起する remember。
His last message, his whole message:
sammasati, remember.
そして、あなたが想起する remember 時、
あなたの意識 consciousness を捨て去ることはありえない。
And when you remember,
there is no way to throw your consciousness away.
禅 zen は 瞑想 meditation ではない。
Zen is not a meditation.
禅 zen とはまさしく サマサティ sammasati だ
…あなたの究極性を想起する、
あなたの不死性を想起する、
あなたの神性さ、あなたの聖なるものを想起する。
Zen is exactly sammasati
– remembrance of your ultimateness,
remembrance of your immortality,
remembrance of your divineness, of your sacredness.
それを想起し、
それを喜び、
そして、あなたが深く根を下ろしていることに喜びから踊る、
存在 existence の中にとても深く根を下ろしているので
心配や不安になることはありえない。
Remembering it,
and rejoicing it,
and dancing out of joy that you are rooted,
so deeply rooted in existence that there is no way for you to be worried, to be concerned.
存在 existence は
あなたの内にも、あなたの外にもあり
…それは1つの全体だ。
Existence is within you and without you – it is one whole.
